BIO:
As a student at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Bahar R. experienced a high caliber music
education. Her Bachelor and Master's Piano performance degrees were completed at Ball
State University. While there, she won numerous Indiana state competitions, including the
Hoosiers Audition, Matinee Musicale Competition, and the Music Teachers National
Association Award– Indiana State Division. She aspires to pass such outstanding standards
on to her students.
For the past 20 years, teaching piano has been a major component of Bahar's professional
career. At Ashgabat International School she taught children of foreign diplomats, including
from the US. At Turkmen National Conservatory, she gave individual lessons to college level
students. In addition to teaching, she also enjoys performing solo, as well as collaborating
with other musicians.
Bahar R. has performed for audiences in several countries. At the age of 11, she performed a
solo concerto by Mozart No. 19 in F Major K459 with the Turkmen National Orchestra. In
2008 and 2009, Bahar participated in the Music Festival in Moulin d’Ande, France. In 2017,
she performed solo at a concert, co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and the U.S.
Embassy, in Turkmenistan. In 2019, she won 1st prize at an international competition in
Moscow.
