Warren has been performing and teaching in the central PA area for more than three decades. As a member of the bluegrass/newgrass bands High Strung and Still on the Hill, he has toured extensively throughout the mid-Atlantic states. In addition to hundreds of gigs with his former bands, he also played many solo and duo performances in clubs and coffeehouses in the area. Along the way, Warren has appeared at festivals such as Bethlehem’s Musikfest, the Three Rivers Arts Festival and the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, and has opened for the one and only Bill Monroe. He is also a former member of the Harrisburg Mandolin Ensemble, a group known for their superb musicianship and a repertoire ranging from bluegrass to Bach. One of the instructors he worked with early on was Kenneth C. “Jethro” Burns (of the Homer and Jethro duo featured on Hee Haw). Warren attended one of his mandolin workshops and was handpicked by Mr. Burns to be one of a few select students to study directly with him for the majority of the week-long intensive. Warren joined KMAC with an already full student roster but is able to extend his hours and add a few more individuals who are looking to benefit from his unique knowledge, ability and experience.
